It started when I was a kid, at a missions conference. My friends from Sunday school and I were all talking about how we were going to become missionaries when we grew up. For the rest of them, that idea faded as they grew up, some stopped coming to church, others are working towards different careers, but for me, that passion still burns. Although it started to fade when I began to dream of being a famous actress, and then a nurse, I always felt Gods tug towards the mission field. God’s call for me to go to missions started to get really strong when I got into high school. My first two missions trips showed me how strong my passion really was. After traveling to Cat Lake twice, and seeing the work God did through me, in the lives of the amazing children who live there, I knew that this is what God is calling me to. So once I returned home, I began to pray day and night that God would open the door to a longer missions trip. At first, nothing really happened, no doors seemed to be opening, but I kept praying and praying that God would show me the right opportunity for me to serve. For the past several months as I have been praying, God has been opening doors that lead straight to this trip. I have now been seeing God working in my life, making this trip and a future in missions possible.
