We were asked to write a blog about how we felt before leaving on this mission trip. Here is what I'm expecting...

 

   Where should I begin... This trip is so out of what i know or anything I have before experienced that it makes it so hard to even know what to expect.  I don't have any idea of what kind of place I will be living in, what I will see when I wake up in the morning, or the kinds of people I will interact with through out the day, but I know that God will be there in it all.  When I think about the trip I get so excited about all the people I am going to meet (from the team to the people that we will all meet on the missions field) and I am excited for our lives to connect and impact one another.  "As iron sharpens iron so one man sharpens another" Proverbs 27:17 I'm looking forward to meeting other followers of Christ who desire to spread Christ's love and to reach out to his people.  I expect to have my heart broken for the people of Africa, and for Christ to use me in some way to impact the people that I meet.  

I know that my walk with God is going to grow and that I will learn to lean on him and trust him in new and powerful ways.  I am expecting this trip to change and impact me in so many ways... I'm just not exactly sure what all those "ways" are going to be yet!  But God will be there in it all!
